Until February 17, 2023, NBSI membership was valid on a calendar year basis, regardless of when a member joined or renewed. NBSI is immediately switching to an "anniversary date" basis for membership. This is similar to joining a gym or subscribing to publications - it begins when you join/renew and lasts one year. Why the change? This change provides new members with a full 12 months of membership. Previously, if someone joined in the middle of the year (for example, July 1), they would only receive membership through December 31. With this change, we can create more value for members, such as discounted virtual events throughout the year.  

As a new member, your membership will be effective 12 months from the day you joined NBSI. 

As a renewing member, should you renew before your membership expires, your renewal will start when your current membership year is completed. 

• If you cannot renew your membership within your membership year and it lapses, your membership will be effective 12 months from the day you renewed it.
• If you renewed your membership before February 17, 2023, your anniversary date would be February 17, 2023.
